Live Like You Are Not Alone

John 14:18

“I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.

Reflection

Jesus makes a promise that brings everything together—“I will not leave you as orphans.” That is not just about presence; it is about identity. An orphan has no security, no protection, no sense of belonging. But in Christ, you are not an orphan—you are a child of God. And yet, many believers still live as though they are on their own. They carry burdens they were never meant to carry. They face struggles as though they have no help. They try to navigate life without leaning into the relationship they have been given. But the truth is, you are not alone, and you are not without help. So live like it. Let that truth shape your decisions. Let it give you confidence in the face of uncertainty. Let it remind you that no matter what you face, you are not walking through it by yourself. Because of the Holy Spirit, you have a constant companion, a faithful guide, and a present Helper in every moment of your life. Live like you believe that.

Prayer

Father, thank You that I am not alone and that I belong to You. Help me to live in that truth every day and to trust You in everything I face. Amen.
