You Are Not Alone

John 14:16-18

16 I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; 17 that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you. 18 “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.

Reflection

There are moments in life when the weight of what we are facing feels almost unbearable. It is not always something you can measure or explain, but you feel it in your heart, in your thoughts, in your emotions. It is the weight of uncertainty, the pressure of fear, the feeling of being completely alone. That is exactly where the disciples were when Jesus spoke these words in John 14. They could sense something was changing. They could feel the weight of what was coming. And into that moment, Jesus gave them a promise that still holds power today—“I will not leave you as orphans.” That is not just a comforting statement. It is a declaration of reality. When you come to Christ, you are not left to figure life out on your own. You are not abandoned in your struggles. You are not isolated in your pain. The Holy Spirit is given to every believer as a Helper, one who comes alongside you, walks with you, and remains with you. So when life presses in and you begin to feel overwhelmed, you must anchor yourself in this truth—you are not alone. Not in your struggle. Not in your fear. Not in your uncertainty. God has not stepped back from your life. He has stepped into it through the presence of the Holy Spirit. Do not let your feelings define your reality. Let the promise of Christ remind you that He is with you, even now.

Prayer

Father, when I feel overwhelmed and alone, remind me of Your promise. Help me to rest in the truth that You are with me and that I am never abandoned. Amen.
