Draw Closer To The Source

John 15:5

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

Reflection

If there is one clear takeaway from this truth, it is this: you must stay connected to the source. Jesus said, “Apart from Me, you can do nothing.” Not a little. Not some things. Nothing. That means every attempt to live the Christian life apart from Him will ultimately fall short. The picture of that plucker losing power because it was too far from the source is a perfect illustration of many believers today. The power is available, but the connection is weak. The distance has grown. The dependence has faded. And as a result, the strength is gone. But the solution is not complicated. Draw closer. Return to Him. Spend time in His Word. Seek Him in prayer. Surrender your life daily. Stay connected. Because when you are connected to the source, the power flows. When you are abiding in Christ, the Spirit works in and through you. So today, make the decision to draw near. Do not settle for a powerless Christian life. Step into the fullness of what God has provided by staying close to Him.

Prayer

Lord, draw me closer to You. Help me to remain connected to You in every moment so that Your power can flow through my life. I surrender myself fully to You today. Amen.
