The Spirit Dwells Within You

1 Corinthians 6:19

Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?

Reflection

Pentecost was more than an event—it was a transition unlike anything the world had ever seen. In the Old Testament, God’s presence dwelled in the tabernacle. Later, His glory filled the temple. Then God walked among humanity in the person of Jesus Christ. But at Pentecost, something extraordinary happened: God came to dwell within believers through the Holy Spirit. That truth is almost overwhelming when you stop and think about it. The same Spirit that hovered over creation, breathed life into Adam, empowered prophets, and raised Christ from the dead now lives within every believer. That means Christianity is not simply about following rules or attending services. It is about living in relationship with the living God who dwells within you. And yet many believers live as though they are spiritually abandoned or powerless. They approach life as though they must handle everything alone. But Pentecost reminds us that God has not left His people to themselves. His Spirit lives within us to guide, strengthen, convict, comfort, and empower. So today, stop seeing yourself as spiritually empty. Stop living as though God is distant. If you belong to Christ, the Holy Spirit is not merely around you—He is within you. That changes how you face temptation. That changes how you face suffering. That changes how you face fear. Because wherever you go, the presence of God goes with you.

Prayer

Father, thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit. Help me to live with a deeper awareness that You dwell within me and that I never walk through life alone. Amen.
